Teachers not paid for six weeks picket fee-paying school

STAFF at a private fee-paying school who claim they haven’t been paid for six weeks mounted a picket yesterday to demand payment of their wages.

Eight teachers from Mel College in Cork city protested outside the school and demanded its owners pay the 17 staff what they’re owed.

“The staff of Mel College have not been paid since the pay date of April 30,” their spokeswoman, Barbara Curran, said.
