Last ditch bid to avert removal

FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny has made a last-ditch attempt to appease his rebel front bench by offering some their jobs back if they repent and back him.

He said he was a generous leader and, if he was given the opportunity to reshuffle his front bench next Monday, will even consider retaining those he sacked at yesterday’s shadow cabinet meeting.

Mr Kenny said that assuming those who triggered tomorrow’s confidence motion accepted the ballot at the parliamentary party meeting he would be prepared to put the affair behind him.
