Secret wedding for Cecelia Ahern

AUTHOR Cecelia Ahern married her partner David Keoghan at a secret civil ceremony yesterday.

The 29-year-old daughter of former taoiseach Bertie Ahern tied the knot with her partner, David Keoghan, a former Irish international athlete who is pursuing an acting career in New York.

The reception was held amid tight security last night at the Lyons Demesne, the majestic 600 acre Co Kildare estate that was home to the late Ryanair founder Tony Ryan.

The wedding and reception was attended by close friends and family, including the couple’s six-month-old daughter, Robin. Also there were Cecelia’s sister Georgina and her husband, Westlife star Nicky Byrne.

Dozens of photographers were encamped outside the walls of the Lyons Demesne last night, hoping to get a glimpse of the couple, but a security cordon prevented anyone but those attending the reception gaining access.

Ms Ahern, who became a household name after the runaway success of her novel PS I Love You, was said to have looked radiant at the civil wedding ceremony earlier yesterday.
