Gormley: Raid risks boosting al-Qaida recruits

THE Israeli flotilla raid risks being “a recruitment sergeant for al-Qaida” in the same way British aggression in the past encouraged people to join the IRA,Environment Minister John Gormley has said.

The Green Party leader told the Dáil that Israel’s behaviour was “outrageous”.

It came as the Dáil agreed a motion condemning the way Israel deployed military force in the raid and calling for a “full, independent and international” inquiry into the incident.
