Kenny scoffs at ‘washing hands’ attempt

FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny has accused Taoiseach Brian Cowen of “washing his hands” of his role in driving the economy “onto the rocks”.

Reacting to the Taoiseach’s defence of his record, Mr Kenny said it was time for an election so that the public could deliver its verdict on Mr Cowen.

“We now have another example of a Taoiseach in power refusing to accept that he drove this economy up on the rocks for four years when he was in the Department of Finance and who expects everybody to take responsibility but not himself.
