McCourt ashes plan postponed

A PLAN to scatter some of Frank McCourt’s ashes near the ruins of Carrigogunnell Castle outside Limerick yesterday had to be postponed as his widow, Ellen, had to return to New York to resume her treatment for breast cancer.

Ellen McCourt travelled to Limerick with Frank’s brothers Malachy, Michael and Alphie for the unveiling of a bust of the Angela’s Ashes author in the grounds of the old Leamy’s primary school in Harstonge Street which the McCourts attended.
