The dying wish of Angela’s Ashes author Frank McCourt has finally been granted as his family scattered his ashes in Limerick to coincide with the eighth anniversary of his passing.

A PLAN to scatter some of Frank McCourt’s ashes near the ruins of Carrigogunnell Castle outside Limerick yesterday had to be postponed as his widow, Ellen, had to return to New York to resume her treatment for breast cancer.

THE ashes of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Frank McCourt will be scattered today at a very special location in his adolescent life in the Limerick countryside.
