A COURTROOM has been built at the University of Limerick to enable law students experience the cut and thrust of the legal coalface.

College builds courtroom for budding legal eagles

Costing €130,000, it has all the trappings of the traditional courtroom – a judges bench, prosecution and defence stands, 12-seat jury area, witness stand and a 60-seat public gallery.

It is the first time law students in this country will get hands-on courtroom experience in college.
