THE Irish hotel sector is set to lose more than €20 million because of the disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud.

The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) said yesterday that the first week of ash cloud disruption cost its members between €17m and €20m in lost revenue.

IHF chief executive John Power said that figure is likely to increase amid the continuing uncertainty about travel into the country.
