Croke Park agreement on track to be ratified

THE Croke Park agreement looks almost certain to be ratified after the leadership of the country’s largest solely public service union gave it its backing.

The IMPACT executive, which had just last month been on the verge of recommending rejection of the pay and public service reform deal to its 55,000 members, last night gave it a ringing endorsement.

The decision was taken following two significant interventions. On Wednesday, the Labour Court mediated in a dispute between IMPACT’s members and HSE management.
