Motorcyclist dies and passenger injured in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST died while his pillion passenger is in a serious condition following a crash in Mallow, Co Cork, last night.

The crash happened at Upper Quarterstown in Mallow at 6.45pm. The driver of the motorbike, a male in his late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger on the bike, also a male, is in a serious condition at Cork University Hospital. It is understood both driver and passenger are foreign nationals. The motorbike collided with a parked car.
