THE luxury home of a Limerick businessman, which was featured in a Sunday newspaper magazine, has been broken into – and the thieves used the owner’s BMW to crash through security gates in a second raid the following night.

Thieves target luxury home for double break-in

Tim Duggan, who runs an insurance company in Limerick, said: “The guards said they never saw anything like it in their lives.”

In the first break-in, thieves stole his wife’s handbag, money and other items, including car keys.

The following night the same gang returned and used the stolen car keys of Mr Duggan’s BMW 320 estate to ram down the front gates.

The two break-ins occurred last Thursday and Friday.

A Sunday newspaper magazine had printed a two-page spread, which appeared last Sunday, on the Duggan home in Ballyclough. The stylish home was designed by Limerick architect David Leahy, who is a friend of the Duggans.
