THE Irish Travel Agents Association last night called on airlines to accommodate people as they are required to under EU law.

President of the ITTA, Pat Dawson, said it was incumbent on airlines to pay for accommodation and food for people stranded abroad.

But, he said, it was likely many airlines would fight this.
