Navy detains Spanish vessel

A BOARDING party from the naval vessel LÉ Niamh was used in a detention operation yesterday.

The vessel, Minchos Septimo, is Spanish registered and was boarded and detained about 160km south of the Fastnet Rock.

The ship was detained for alleged fishing violations.
