Elderly man dies in two-car crash as four escape uninjured

A 70-YEAR-OLD man died in a two-car crash in Louth yesterday afternoon.

The collision happened at Lismanus on the Collon to Dunleer Road.

The man was the only occupant of one of the vehicles. He was removed to Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he was pronounced dead.

The four occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.

Last night the scene remained closed for technical examination and traffic diversions were in place.

Gardaí in Dunleer are investigating the incident.
