Mother of Micheál and Seán Martin to be laid to rest
Mrs Martin (nee Corbett), known to friends as Lana, died at Marymount Hospice in Cork after a short illness. She had lived with her husband, Paddy, a former international Irish boxer, at O’Connell Avenue in Turner’s Cross for several years.
She is survived by Paddy and their five children — Micheál, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Seán, a Cork city councillor, Padraig, Mairead and Eileen. Mrs Martin’s remains will be removed from Sullivan’s Funeral Home in Turner’s Cross at 7pm tonight to Christ the King Church. Burial will take place following 11am Requiem Mass on Monday in St James’s Cemetery in Chetwynd.
