Thousands sign up to Facebook campaign against bylaws on beach use

MORE than 3,300 people have signed up to a Facebook campaign against proposals to introduce controversial bylaws which will ban bonfires, dunes’ jogging and other activities at 37 beaches in Co Cork.

A total of 210 submissions were received from the public about Cork County Council’s draft byelaws.

Over 170 indicated outright opposition to the introduction of the regulations which also prohibit archery and paint-balling.
