Nightclub rows back in bid for further Good Friday alcohol exemption

A NIGHTCLUB which indicated its intention to seek an exemption from Limerick District Court to open from 12.01am on Saturday after the Good Friday pub exemption finished in the city for a big rugby game, did not proceed with its application.

Solicitor Ted McCarthy initially told the court on Tuesday he was applying for the exemption for the Icon nightclub in Denmark Street. The court was told Gardaí were objecting to the application.

At Wednesday’s sitting of the court, the application did not proceed.
