STUDENTS who allowed footage of their behaviour while they were under the influence of legal highs to be shown to their school were “brave and generous”, their school principal said.

Three Leaving Cert students at Columba College, Co Westmeath, became violently ill after smoking a cannabis substitute product, Bonzai, which they bought from a head shop in Mullingar.

School principal Maura McAuliffe said following their ordeal they wanted to make other students aware of the dangers of the product.
