Two charged with assault

TWO men have been charged with the assault of a 25-year-old man who remains critical in hospital.

Martin O’Brien, 20, and Kieran Deegan, 19, appeared at Waterford district court yesterday charged with the assault of Damien Organ, causing him harm, on March 21.

Both Mr Organ and his brother Liam were allegedly assaulted at the People’s Park at 11.40pm.

Files are to be sent to the DPP in respect of two women, who were arrested and later released without charge.
