GARDAÍ are advising some ATM operators to withdraw cash from the machines at night to thwart ram-raiding gangs.

Thieves left empty- handed from a super-market in north Cork yesterday morning because the owner, on the advice of gardaí, had removed the cash the previous evening.

At 5.07am the gang used a stolen Mitsubishi 4x4 to smash through the front of O’Keeffe’s SuperValu in Millstreet.
