WWI grenade found at canal

A FIRST World War grenade was discovered yesterday by workmen doing routine maintenance on Dublin’s Grand Canal.

An army bomb disposal team was called to Upper Mount Street by gardaí and an army spokesman said the grenade, described as unstable, was removed and destroyed by controlled explosion.
