No charges in Baiba Saulite murder case

THE Director of Public Prosecutions has turned down a Garda file recommending charges be brought against a man suspected of ordering the murder of innocent mother Baiba Saulite in November 2006.

The decision is a heavy blow not only to Ms Saulite’s relatives and her solicitor John Hennessy – who is under constant Garda protection – but also to gardaí who conducted a massive, and difficult, investigation into the killing.

Mr Hennessy received death threats following the murder and there were attacks on his home.
