Student wizards and goblins prepare for battle

WIZARDS and goblins from other realms will battle it out in Cork this weekend in what organisers claim is Europe’s largest student-run gaming conventions.

Some 700 people are expected to attend Warpcon — University College Cork’s (UCC) annual war-gaming and role-playing convention — which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Organised by UCC’s Wargaming and Roleplaying Society (WARPS), they say it is largest student-run convention is Europe.
