Wood’s wife says his affair with barmaid is over
Jo Wood said the 62-year-old guitarist, who has been in a stormy relationship with Ekaterina Ivanova for 18 months, has “split up with that girl for good”.
She said: “It’s over. He won’t be going back to her. There’s no going back for him, he’s adamant about that.”
Her comments come a week after Wood was arrested over claims he assaulted the young Russian in Surrey.
Ms Wood – the rocker’s wife of 23 years – said: “I was very upset to hear about what happened last week and I’ve spoken to Ronnie.
“In fact, I called him after he came out of the nick to see how he was coping and he told me not to worry and that he’s going to be OK.”
She added that she was “absolutely not” getting back together with Wood, and that she plans to sell the £2 million Surrey home the couple shared.
Wood was arrested in the high street of Claygate, Esher, Surrey, last week by officers called to reports of an assault.
A passer-by dialled 999 as a violent argument took place between him and Ms Ivanova.
After spending a night in the cells, he was released on bail until next month pending further inquiries.
Police were previously called to the couple’s mock-castle home in September after one row in which it was claimed the Russian threatened to kill herself.
Ms Ivanova, who met Wood in a lapdancing club, is now said to have moved in with her mother.
