A SUMMIT of EU leaders is struggling to come up with a deal to help countries deal with the effects of climate change.

Still no EU deal on aid package

The EU hopes to boost efforts to reach a deal on climate change in Copenhagen by agreeing to contribute a specific amount to help developing countries immediately begin the work of mitigating and adapting to the effects of global warming.

This will be their final meeting before they gather in the Danish capital next week for the closing session of what they hope will be the bones of a global deal.
