Search for armed raiders in 2 separate attacks

GARDAÍ are searching for armed raiders who took part in two robberies in Cork, one which involved the theft of what gardaí described as a substantial sum of money.

Both raids took place yesterday, with the largest occurring in north Cork at around lunchtime.

A senior Garda spokesman said at approximately 1.20pm a van containing a man and a woman was returning with cash from a bank when they were robbed at gunpoint.
