AROUND 700 households were last night advised to boil their water amid health fears.

Households advised to boil water

Limerick County Council put a precautionary boil water notice in place after talks with health chiefs. The move affects some 2,000 people.

Engineers said the clarity of the water in the supply had dropped slightly but could not say what caused it.

Areas affected include Broadford, Dromcolligher, Feohanagh/Castlemahon, Mountplummer, Kilmeedy and Feenagh, which all escaped the recent devastating floods.
