Dismay at decision to destroy files on priests

ABUSE victim support groups have reacted with dismay at revelations that files on 56 priests suspected of child sex abuse and handed to the Dublin Commission of Investigation will be destroyed.

The groups have described the commission’s decision as a waste of resources.

The Dublin Commission of Investigation had collected material on a total of 102 priests but selected a sample of 46 to complete their report.
