Jedward to put X-factor in Toy Show
Fresh from their exit from the hit show last week, John and Edward Grimes will appear alongside Ryan Tubridy for what is sure to be the most watched episode of the Late Late Show this year.
Speaking to Gerry Ryan on 2FM yesterday, the pair described their appearance as “a dream come true”.
“We are coming home for the Late Late Toy Show and we are going to check out all the new toys and get ready for Christmas and write our Santa list.
“It’s like a dream come true for us because we watch it every single year. Everyone watches it and you know it’s Christmas when you see the Toy Show,” said John.
The twins said they were excited to be returning home after becoming the unlikely hit of the X Factor but had no idea as to what their future plans are.
The pair are rumoured to be in the running to support Robbie Williams on his world tour next year and already have replica dolls, which hopefully, won’t be premiered on tonight’s show.
“I want to do every- thing. Everything we just do to give it a try because you might as well because you don’t know how it’s going to end up. We did the X Factor and look at how that went so we just want to kind of stay focused and put positive vibes out there.
“We won everyone over. In the beginning, people were wondering what we were doing there and then everyone was saying John and Edward are actually alright so that was kind of cool for us,” said Edward.
There are rumours the twins have been offered a £250,000 (€275,000) contract for an auto- biography at the tender age of 18.
The pair are likely to provide a major boost for Tubridy’s first Toy Show.
For advertisers, the privilege of getting a slot will not come cheap, with a 30-second spot going for €17,000 during Friday nght’s Late Late Toy Show
However RTÉ has said this year offers additional value as the price includes a second spot in the repeat version of the show next Sunday.
lThe Late Late Toy Show is on RTÉ 1 at 9.35pm.
