THE winter of discontent warmed up yesterday as 2,000 people involved in under-threat community schemes marched through Limerick city.

The protesters from all over Munster fear cuts will hit community development programmes, family resource centres, community childcare projects and many Fás jobs initiatives.

SIPTU and Impact organised the demonstration.
