Coughlan politically embarrassed as Donegal says No

DONEGAL’S lone No vote left Tánaiste Mary Coughlan politically embarrassed last night.

The employment minister’s home county defied the trend in the Lisbon referendum as its two Dáil constituencies were the only ones to vote against the treaty.

The upset put the spotlight back on the Tánaiste’s judgment after being embroiled in a raft of Government controversies in recent months.
