‘Don’t reject to get revenge’

TOMORROW’S vote on the Lisbon Treaty should not be driven by people’s feelings towards the Government, according to the Labour Party.

Party leader Eamon Gilmore said regardless of who was in office the treaty issue would still have to be dealt with. He accepted people were angry at the Government and wanted the cabinet to be removed.

But he told supporters not to reject the treaty as a tactic to reverse national economic policies and trigger a general election.
