Age discrimination tops job-related complaints

AGE discrimination dominated the case load of the Equality Authority in 2008, according to its latest report.

The age ground was the largest category of employment case files with 98 out of a total of 374 under the Employment Equality Acts being dealt with during 2008, according to the authority’s annual report.

Race was the second highest category with 70 cases being processed last year, followed by 59 gender cases and a similar number on disability grounds .
