A CORK company has won a contract to supply the HSE with 18 million surgical masks to protect against a swine flu pandemic.

Anderco Safety Ltd, based in Little Island, is to ship them into the country within the next month from China, where they are being made by a manufacturing partner.

Anderco, which was founded in 1976 and employs 50 people, has also recently won contracts from the Defence Forces and the gardaí for the supply of hand sanitisers, respirators, and face masks.
