Cork man drowns in Lake Garda

A YOUNG Irish tourist has become the second Irish person to drown in Lake Garda in Italy in just over a week.

John Duane, 21, from Ballinphellic, Co Cork, is believed to have drowned when he got into difficulty after he and a group of friends went swimming in the lake in the early hours of yesterday morning following a night out.

Mr Duane is understood to have been attending a wedding in the popular northern Italian resort on Wednesday night.
