Marriott withdraws brand from hotel

ANOTHER big hotel group has withdrawn from Limerick with the decision of the Marriott Hotel group to discontinue its brand name at a city centre property.

It comes 18 months after the Hilton Hotel group withdrew its brand from the city.

The 94-bedroom former Marriott Hotel will, however, continue as The Savoy Hotel. Located in Henry Street, the property was developed by the Fordmount Group, which was responsible for a number of major developments in the city centre.
