Bus Éireann to extend €2 internet offer
Due to popular demand, the company has decided to extend the €2 single fare offer on its Galway to Dublin and Galway to Cork routes until 15 September.
The original offer was due to expire on August 31.
The €2 tickets for off-peak services between Galway and Dublin and Galway and Cork are available on a limited number of seats per service.
However, the company has said it will try and make as many seats available as possible as part of the deal.
The Twitter offer represents a significant discount from normal single fares on these routes.
The usual cost of a single fare ticket from Cork to Galway is €18, while the same fare on the Dublin to Galway route is €15.
Bus Éireann PR and media manager Andrew McLindon said the company hoped to offer as many seats as possible as part of the deal.
“Bus Éireann is very happy with the reaction to its twitter site so far and we want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to take advantage of these incredible fares,” he said.
The €2 single fare applies to the following daily services:
* Galway-Dublin (Route 20) — 10.30, 11.30, 12.30, 13.30, 14.30, 15.30
* Dublin-Galway (Route 20) — 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00, 15.00
* Galway-Cork (Route 51) — 10.05, 11.05, 12.05, 13.05, 14.05, 15.05
* Cork-Galway (Route 51) — 10.25, 11.25, 12.25, 13.25, 14.25, 15.25
Bus Éireann also said it is to use Twitter to announce further offers, special services and service information.
