Funeral of Cavan drowning victim to take place today

THE coffin of Cavan drowning victim Simon Delaney was carried last night into the Church of St Ultan’s, Killinkere, Cavan, before his funeral today.

The keen sportsman’s coffin bore his county and & local team jerseys as it entered the church.

Cavan GAA will hold a minute’s silence at all matches in the county over the weekend as a mark of respect to Simon, who died trying to save six people on a local lake on Wednesday night.
