IRISH law and human rights experts will be deployed on two EU missions in the coming weeks.

Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin said one of the civilians will be sent to serve with the EU’s police assistance mission in Afghanistan and the other to the West Bank.

A young Tipperary woman will take up the major role in training Palestinian police forces in the West Bank who face daily threats from unrest in the area and attacks by militias. The minister paid tribute to those who have served on civilian missions across the globe as well as the country’s traditional peacekeeping forces.
