Chemist’s legal action threat over HSE list

A KERRY pharmacist is threatening legal action after the Health Service Executive announced his chemist will continue to dispense drugs under the State drugs schemes.

Dan Ahern said he was appalled by the HSE’s reckless action in making his pharmacy part of its contingency plan in dealing with the looming crisis in the supply of medicines.

While he had been prepared to continue supplying his regular customers, he wanted to reserve his right to withdraw from the scheme until he saw the full extent of the Government’s fee cuts.
