Higgins launches anti-Lisbon push

SOCIALIST Party MEP Joe Higgins says he will not link up with any group opposed to abortion when he launched his No to Lisbon campaign in Strasbourg.

But he was accused of taking part in a circus with Sinn Féin and the British nationalist independence party by Labour MEP Proinsias De Rossa.

Mr Higgins, the newly elected Dublin MEP, invited the leaders of the three main political groups in the parliament to come to Ireland to debate with workers in September as he believes the treaty undermines employment rights.
