MUNSTER mammies are best, according to the Mum of the Year judges!

This year the province secured a hat-trick of wins with Rita O’Donoghue from Blarney Street, Cork taking the title for the way she faced serious challenges in her life with endless optimism and courage.

She was nominated for the Woman’s Way Mum of the Year award by her sister, Maureen McCarthy, who was herself crowned Mum of the Year in 2007 being described as an exceptional winner for the way she got on with raising her five children after her husband died from cancer.
