Southill to get CCTV system

THE Limerick Regeneration Agency is proceeding with the erection of a major CCTV system throughout Southill to improve security within estates there.

While the new system will cost €600,000, the regeneration agency for Southill has received a commitment of €400,000 from the Department of Justice and Pobal, the organisation set up to assist various developments in socially disadvantaged areas and under-resourced communities.

An update report on work being carried out by the two Regeneration Agencies appointed to manage a 10-year renewal programme for Southill, Ballinacurra Weston, Moyross and St Mary’s Park also states that further funding is being sought to install a smaller CCTV system in St Mary’s Park which will cost in the region of €200,000.
