EDINBURGH took on the appearance of a human zoo last night as thousands of supporters of the Leinster Lions and Leicester Tigers began to arrive in the Scottish capital in advance of today’s Heineken Cup final.

On the pitch, Brian O’Driscoll and his team will be hoping that they live up to their name and emerge kings of the jungle by figuratively tearing stripes off the newly crowned English champions and lifting the trophy for the first time in their history.

The pairing of Leinster and Leicester in today’s final at Murrayfield (kick-off 5pm) might be a commentator’s nightmare but it could be a dream for the Blue Province if they can emulate the previous success of Ulster and Munster after failing to deliver on their potential in recent years.
