HEALTH professionals are working closely with local students, parents and teachers following news that six teenage girls, who live within a 19km radius of Co Kildare and west Dublin, have taken their own lives in the past 12 months.

Three girls aged 12 and 13 have died by suicide in recent weeks, it has emerged.

It is believed that all six girls, aged from 12 to 17, knew each other.
