Beamish group to meet Dutch diplomatic team

OFFICIALS at the Dutch embassy have agreed to meet heritage campaigners fighting for a tourist centre on the site of Ireland’s oldest brewery.

The National Conservation and Heritage Group (NCHG) confirmed last night the meeting will take place in Dublin later this month.

It is hoped the embassy will help organise a meeting between the NCHG and senior Heineken executives at the Dutch company’s global headquarters in the Hague to discuss the future of the Beamish and Crawford brewery site in Cork.
