Drug swoop targets biggest trafficker

COCAINE with a street value of about €3.5 million, which was seized during a raid on a Traveller camp is believed to have belonged to Ireland’s biggest drugs trafficker.

One man was arrested during the early-morning swoop on seven caravans and surrounding ground near a factory at Drogheda, Co Louth.

A Webley mark IV revolver and 47 rounds of ammunition were also recovered, while Customs officials impounded an unregistered car.
