POLITICAL legend Pearse Wyse, who died in Cork yesterday, was described as a man of principle who was devoted to public service.

Tributes as founding member of PDs dies

Health Minister Mary Harney led tributes to the Cork-born former Fianna Fáil TD and founder member of the Progressive Democrats who died at St Finbarr’s Hospital. He was 81 and had been ill for some time.

Ms Harney said his decision to join the PDs in 1985 gave the party confidence.
