Bantry Hospital work stoppage

MEMBERS of the Irish Nurses’ Organisation have voted to carry out a one-hour work stoppage at a Co Cork hospital over cutbacks being imposed by the HSE.

The organisation said it would stage the work stoppage next Tuesday, April 21, and also carry out a lunchtime protest at Bantry General Hospital.

The nurses’ organisation said its members at the hospital had voted 91% in favour of industrial action in response to management’s targeting of frontline staff due to alleged budgetary constraints.
